Display Gardens
Three formal gardens create a tranquil setting to be enjoyed as part of the shopping experience, with ample seating to allow you to enjoy a relaxing moment.
The gardens are partially enclosed with clipped hedging and planted with herbaceous borders that give colour and horticultural interest all year round. In spring numerous bulbs provide a display of early colour giving way to an explosion of purple lavender in the summer months. The evergreen olive trees provide a framed walkway to the shops reinforced with Box hedging to give structure and winter interest.
At either end of the gardens in the piazza spaces are two large semi-mature trees with surrounding seating. These singular specimens, one an oak and the other a tulip tree, have been planted to give focus and horticultural presence to the piazzas.
Leading from the car park to the shops is an oak wood pergola planted with semi-mature Wisterias for spring a late summer colour as well as a degree of shelter from the elements.
An avenue of Box head Hornbeams creates a formal entrance to Van Hage’s garden centre entrance and this is illuminated at Christmas time.
