BCSC Gold Award
December 2010
Peterborough Garden Park has won the British Council of Shopping Centres Gold Award for being judged the best Out-of-Town Retail Sceme in the UK.
The Award, made at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London recognised in particular the projects innovation.
The award was won against strong competition from major UK developers such as Land Securities, British Land, Prudential and Capital Shopping Centres.
In making the award the BCSC commented:
'Once again the Jury considered a diverse range of schemes – from dominant open A1 retail parks, exciting new entrants to the market including John Lewis at Home, and to the continued evolution of innovative formats including garden centres, lifestyle retailing and airport retailing. Of the strong line-up of contestants the Jury decided this year’s award should go to Peterborough Garden Park, an innovative scheme, showing an evolution of a traditional concept which the jury felt had long term relevance to a change of demographic and lifestyle in the UK'.
